Residential and Holiday Park (find out more here)
Set in the beautiful and dramatic North Yorkshire Moors National Park, Ugthorpe Lodge Caravan Park is a quiet site that’s perfect for a base while exploring the national park, the coast and neighbouring Cleveland.Close to the village of Ugthorpe, five miles from Whitby, this campsite is surrounded by trees, delightful countryside and has lovely views all around, including one of the hilltop Whitby Abbey. The open-plan site is situated around an imposing hunting lodge (actually a hotel and restaurant) that dates back to 1605, and has 20 spacious, level pitches for touring caravans, motorhomes and tents, all with electric hook-up.Also on site are two new shepherd’s huts, available to hire for glamping holidays, and 70 static caravans (but these are all privately owned holiday homes and not for hire). An additional field provides space for caravan rallies. It's a fine place to pitch on your motorhome, camping and caravan holidays in Yorkshire. This is a dog friendly campsite, although your four-legged friends must be kept on a lead and exercised away from the caravan park. The adjacent hotel includes a restaurant plus bar (with a family room within the bar area that allows children to sit with their parents) and the option to purchase takeaway food. An alternative for a meal out is the Black Bull pub in the village of Ugthorpe itself, a traditional Yorkshire stone building with a quirky interior.
