Culture lovers should head to the Pocklington Arts Centre, which offers ‘second screenings’ of movies and often plays host to famous comedians.Further afield, York is the most popular tourist city in the region, with much to do for everyone. While the city is brilliant for its collection of shops and modern bars and restaurants, it is exploring the history of York that most people find exciting when spending time there. The York Castle Museum is the central and main attraction, while the Jorvik Viking Centre and National Railway Museum are among the other great places that are worth checking out.South Lea Caravan Park is a superb place to base yourself for exploring the local towns as well as York, the countryside, and even heading out to the east coast. For more ideas on places to visit and things to do during your camping, motorhome and caravan holidays in Yorkshire, please see our sister website Practical Caravan’s travel guide to North East England http://www.practicalcaravan.com/caravan-travel-guides/29597-north-east-england and the guide to caravan holidays in North West England http://www.practicalcaravan.com/caravan-travel-guides/28405-north-west-england.
