Howarth Farm Caravan Park is a popular site in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, close to the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The park is open throughout the year and welcomes guests with tents, motorhomes, and touring caravans. You can rent static holiday caravans at Howarth Farm, too.There are no electric hook ups at the campsite, but you will find water taps, chemical waste disposal points, a toilet and shower block and washing up sinks to use throughout your stay. Take torches for all the family to use when getting to and from the facilities after dark, and enjoy this peaceful rural location's dark skies. The park is ideal for anybody looking for a basic camping experience, especially as it offers a cheap camping holiday on a lovely farm surrounded by a beautiful landscape. The nearest village is a 20-minute walk away from the park and has two family friendly country pubs, as well as local amenities including a convenience store.There is also plenty to see and do in this area. Guests who love the outdoors will find plenty to do across the Yorkshire Dales. There are many popular walking and cycling trails to be enjoyed, with the Leeds Liverpool canal walk found close to the market town of Skipton, which is a short distance from the park. Go walking in the Yorkshire Dales and you will have an opportunity to experience a range of terrain, from gentle countryside to rolling hills and woodland. Make sure you have proper walking kit, such as a good Ordnance Survey map, walking boots, waterproofs, food, drink and so on, just in case you get a little lost or find that the weather catches you out. All your efforts in climbing the hills will be well worth it, because the high points on the Dales offer breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.Horse riding and pony trekking is also offered at a number of points across the Yorkshire Dales and exploring on horseback certainly represents an enjoyable way to get around, even if you've never ridden before but like new experiences. The country villages and farms of the Dales are all worth visiting and are welcoming to visitors. Some of the local farms are friendly to passing walkers with children, so if you get chatting you might get to meet or even feed some farm animals in an informal way. Otherwise, visit the delightful Thornton Hall Farm Country Park, in Thornton-in-Craven, or Hesketh Farm Park at Bolton Abbey. Guided tours and walks are available for those looking to explore the local area, but many guests choose to simply head out with an Ordnance Survey map and discover the area for themselves.The market towns on the southern border of the Yorkshire Dales offer a wonderful experience for all who visit. Skipton is particularly popular, however Bolton Abbey is also a great place to spend a day and is often enjoyed by younger family members.Harrogate and Ripon can be reached in under an hour, both via scenic countryside drives that take in parts of the Dales as well as Nidderdale. Leeds is roughly an hour away in the car, while those preferring to take public transport can make regular journeys from most of the nearby towns.
