Those who do not drive will be happy to know that there are local public transport links and services near to the park.  If you venture a few miles out of the park down towards Plymouth, you will also be able to find rail links.  The railway here will take up further along the South Coast, as well as further into the North if you wish.

For those residents who prefer their city standards, Exeter is only a few minutes away to the East.  Exeter City is not a typical city in that it is less frantic than many of the metropolises you will find further North, from London upwards.  It is a city with lots of history and heritage behind it.  As, too, is Plymouth, which you will find South-West of the park, right at the edge of the coast.  This beautiful coastal city is well-known for its port heritage, and it sits a few miles around the corner from the famous Roseland Heritage Coast.  Certainly, there is a lot to take in here when it comes to natural and human history alike.

Other popular seaside resorts in Bournemouth and Poole lie out to the East, just beyond Torquay and Weymouth.  Travellers are then just a short distance away from historic towns in Salisbury and Yeovil.  Devon is a county with history and natural beauty in abundance, and it would be a shame not to make the most of the local sites of interest as an Oaklands resident.
