Blunsdon Abbey Park in Wiltshire is a stunning park designed for retired residents. Set in the ruins of the historic Blunsdon Abbey Grounds, North of Swindon with scenic views over the hills of Liddington Castle. There is a friendly community on the park with a community room on-site where coffee mornings, quiz nights, and other social activities occur as well as a petanque court next to the abbey.
Blunsdon Abbey Park is pet-friendly and has both designated and visitor parking and residents can also benefit from peace of mind with excellent security including CCTV and an on-site warden. Locally, the village of Blunsdon St. Andrew is within close walking distance to the park. Here, residents can find the Orbital Shopping Centre which has an extensive range of stores as well as an Asda supermarket, restaurants, cafes, and a library. The village also has local pubs and shops and a bus stop that leads directly to Swindon. There is much to do in Swindon and the surrounding Cotswolds. Swindon is home to museums for everyone, including the STEAM Museum of the Great West Railway, the Museum of Computing, and the Swindon Museum and Art Gallery.
The Nightingale Woods is just outside of Swindon and is a community woodland with excellent wildlife and three waymarked trails which all have picturesque natural views- perfect for a day out and a picnic with visitors. Lydiard Park, on the Swindon outskirts, also makes a good day out with visiting family- it is a beautiful historic site with a walled garden, children's play area and cafe and tea rooms. Furthermore, the Wyvern Theatre and Arts Centre is worth a visit with entertainment for everyone from pantomime to live music.
