Renowned manufacturer Willerby has supplied 128 holiday lodges to support a significant expansion at a highly sought-after Butlin’s resort.

These deluxe Gainsborough models constitute the entirety of the lodging offerings in the newly unveiled Maple Walk village—a thrilling addition to Butlin’s site in Skegness along the scenic Lincolnshire coast.

Butlin’s, a beloved destination for families opting for staycations, has invested £12 million in this recent lodge village development. Situated in Skegness, the site holds historical significance as the UK’s inaugural holiday park, established by Billy Butlin in 1936. Maple Walk stands as the latest in a series of substantial enhancements to the resort in recent times.

Each of the three-bedroom Gainsborough lodges in Maple Walk features a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and en-suite shower, along with two additional twin rooms. The lodges boast spacious, fully equipped kitchen areas complete with a full-sized fridge freezer, microwave, hob, and reliable Wi-Fi connectivity.

Externally, the lodges offer private decking areas furnished with outdoor seating, as well as parking space for two vehicles.

All lodges adhere to the groundbreaking Willerby GreEN Standard—a pioneering sustainability benchmark introduced by the manufacturer. This standard, unveiled in 2022, has led to a significant reduction in energy consumption by up to 28% in Willerby homes, resulting in lower emissions and substantial energy cost savings.

Willerby Business Development Manager Gemma Pudsey said: “We’re delighted to have been able to provide Butlin’s with 128 of our Gainsborough models for the Maple Walk village.

“It’s a stunning new addition to Butlin’s Skegness resort, which we’re proud to have played such a significant role in bringing to life.

“We have an excellent, long-standing relationship with Butlin’s, which is one of the UK’s best known and most loved staycation providers, and we’re proud to enable them to provide their customers with luxury accommodation to stay in and to enjoy.

“There’s already an incredible buzz around Maple Walk. It’s great that families will not only be able to make the most of the amazing facilities and amenities at the Butlin’s resort, but also enjoy all the benefits of staying in a Willerby Gainsborough just a few minutes from all the fun.”

Nestled in landscaped surroundings, Maple Walk offers a serene ambiance just a brief five-minute stroll from the resort’s main entertainment venues, facilities, and activities. Guests at Maple Walk enjoy full access to all amenities, including the new £2.5 million “SKYPARK” playground, featuring an array of attractions such as climbing towers, an illuminated tube slide, and a unique seesaw designed to power its lighting. The playground also includes wheelchair-accessible features like a trampoline, swings, and walkways, complemented by a nearby café where parents can unwind while their children play.

The Skegness resort has a comprehensive swimming pool complex featuring rides, flumes, rapids, and a dedicated children’s pool. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the recently revamped fairground boasting four exciting new rides.

Maple Walk was officially launched with a ceremonial event attended by local dignitaries and VIP guests, marking yet another milestone in the ongoing evolution of the Butlin’s resort experience.

Jeremy Fletcher, Butlin’s Skegness Resort Director, said: “We’re delighted to have opened our new premium lodges for families and Big Weekender guests to enjoy.

Willerby’s premium Gainsborough models form the entire accommodation offer in the newly opened Maple Walk site.

“The new Maple Walk village is a fantastic addition to our resort and early feedback from guests who have already stayed in one of our new lodges has been very positive.

“With new accommodation and entertainment facilities like our inclusive SKYPARK playground and new-look fairground opening just last year, there’s plenty of reason for guests to visit our resort on holiday this year.”
